I absolutely love volunteering for LAT, as a Criminology student it’s great to be somewhere that could be a potential future working environment so that it’s not as daunting once I leave university. I wanted to volunteer at LAT because I really think that the work they do is essential to helping individuals in the criminal justice system and their families through a difficult time.
LAT work with people with convictions to help make them more confident individuals upon their release from prison and as someone who has had a relative end up in prison I think rehabilitation is of paramount importance.
The support and guidance from LAT staff is brilliant and they really help your progression so that you can make the most of your volunteering experience. I would definitely recommend working with LAT, not only because it looks good on a CV but also you can really see the work you are doing making a difference.
