Celebrating Our First Awards for Excellence in Rehabilitation

What a milestone! Our first ever LAT Awards for Excellence in Rehabilitation took place at beautiful Doddington Hall, bringing together an inspiring community of people committed to rehabilitation and reducing re-offending across Lincolnshire and Humberside.

As part of our 25th anniversary year, we wanted to celebrate this milestone in a way that truly reflected our mission and values. The creation of the LAT Rehabilitation Awards allowed us to recognise the outstanding individuals, teams and organisations who work tirelessly to help people rebuild their lives and reconnect with their communities.

We were absolutely thrilled by the large number of nominations we received in this first year. From these we shortlisted 21 individuals/teams. Each nomination told a powerful story of commitment, compassion and positive change, a testament to the incredible work happening across our region.

The awards were presented by Marc Jones (Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner) and David Chambers DL (High Sheriff of Lincolnshire). Both spoke passionately about how criminal justice work often happens behind the scenes and the importance of taking pride in the vital role we all play in improving lives and making communities safer.

The overall winners included :

Project Compass

Delivered by Development Plus, Project Compass is a lifeline for rough sleepers in Lincoln. They provide a drop in facility offering warmth, safety, food, hot drinks, showers, clean clothes and even haircuts. The project encourages engagement and collaboration with partner agencies to help people rebuild their lives.

Adi’s Legacy CIC

Adi’s Legacy is a shining example of community spirit in action. With compassion and generosity at its core, the team provides food, home starter packs and clothing to those in need always with kindness and without judgement.

Scunthorpe Probation Women’s Team

Scunthorpe Women’s group are a great example of how a bigger impact can be achieved by working together as a tight knit group of professionals. Together, they have created a safe, supportive space for women under probation supervision, offering women-only reporting days, a warm room with clothes rail and a 12-step programme of support. Their approach balances empathy with effective risk management.

Each winner received a glass plaque and certificate, and all shortlisted nominees were presented with a certificate in recognition of their contribution.

Reflecting on the event, our Chief Executive Alison Goddard, who hosted the awards, said:

“Using LAT’s 25th anniversary year as a platform to host these awards was a way of recognising the outstanding criminal justice work that is being undertaken across the area, much of which goes unnoticed.  We were delighted to share the afternoon with so many worthy nominees who are making a difference in their communities each day.”

We were delighted to hear from our keynote speakers, Dr Simon Marshall, Divisional Director for Health and Wellbeing at the Ministry of Justice, and Janet Cullinan from the Academy of Social Justice. They shared valuable insights about the importance of continued learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing across the criminal justice sector.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this inaugural event, to our nominees and winners, and to all who continue to champion rehabilitation across Lincolnshire and Humberside.

Here’s to another 25 years of partnership, progress and positive change!
