Diana has been married to her husband for over 40 years and he has recently come into custody. Diana was initially extremely emotional and was very grateful for the help she received from LAT’s Family and Significant Others Team as she had not previously had anyone to talk to about her situation.
Diana was anxious about going into the prison environment and the team were able to give her guidance and information, and sat with her in the Visits Hall whilst waiting for her husband to come into the visit.
The team spent much time with her, listening and offering emotional support. Diana gradually became less anxious and now visits the prison with confidence. She had to resolve issues with solicitors and household bills, with the Family team helping her through this and advocated on her behalf.
Diana was also experiencing some bullying and the team were able to report and challenge this. Diana and her husband are very grateful for the team’s ongoing assistance.
