Carole Rawson
Carole Rawson is a Family Engagement Manager; her role is to oversee family engagement services and staff across four Lincolnshire prisons focusing on delivery which enable prisoners to maintain relationships with their families. She is responsible for developing effective links with key departments and agencies at each prison site. Carole makes it a key priority to support her team to ensure they achieve their targets and reach their full potential.
Carole has worked across a wide range of educational settings in pastoral, educational and management roles; in schools, a pupil referral unit; in the adult employability and skills training sector; and as a tutor, coordinator and manager in family and adult community education. She has always worked with the hardest to reach communities.
She attended university at the age of 44, while working full-time and as a single parent. Carole truly believes it is never too late to achieve your goals!
For Carole the most exciting part about joining LAT was the opportunity to be part of a fantastic organisation where she can contribute to making a significant difference and moving into a role that makes the best use of her skills and experience.
The most rewarding parts of Carole’s role are working with so many talented and knowledgeable colleagues, working with HMP professionals across four prisons, and leading and supporting colleagues to ensure that LAT provides a valuable and valued service for prisoners, their families and the wider prison service.
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
“Don’t waste your time trying to rationalise the irrational!”
What’s your favourite motto?
“Those that mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind.”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I like to travel as much as I can, both in the UK and abroad. I love Greece and have been visiting the same place for 30 years as well as other destinations, mainly in Europe. I enjoy walking in the countryside with my beautiful dog. I am also a massive Liverpool fan.”
