Shanie Gaskin
Shanie Gaskin is a Reconnect Senior Practitioner; her role is to oversee a dedicated team of community navigators within the Reconnect Service which assists people aged 18 and over who face health challenges in transitioning from prison to community-based services. The goal is to help them maintain their health and well-being, ensuring they have the support needed to reintegrate successfully.
Before joining LAT, Shanie had a diverse career in marketing. She wrote articles and managed social media for a copyright law company and worked in leisure and entertainment. This varied background has equipped her with a unique perspective and a range of skills that she brings to her current role.
What excites her most about LAT is its core value of empowerment. The organisation steps in to support individuals when others may step away, a mission that deeply resonates with her. The opportunity to work for a charity with such a strong and aligned ethos was a compelling draw.
The most rewarding part of Shanie’s role is the impact LAT makes on its service users’ lives. Whether it's helping someone find a home after rough sleeping, accessing much-needed mental health support, or simply being a compassionate listener, each day brings meaningful and inspiring moments.
