Departure Lounge at HMP Lincoln

If you would like to come to the prison to collect a family member, friend or loved one on their day of release, you are very welcome to use our 'Departure Lounge', based in the FIRST Centre.  This is directly on the left of the main prison gate and has a ‘FIRST Centre’ sign outside.

The FIRST (Family Information and Release Support Team) are located in this building and you will be offered a safe, comfortable place to wait for your friend or family member to be released.

You can have a drink whilst you wait and our staff are there to offer assistance and advice.  There is also a small play area for any children who may be with you.

At the point of release, we will offer to spend a few minutes with the released person to check they have everything that they need.

They will be offered a wash-bag with basic essentials in it, as well as a hot drink, use of phone-chargers and other practical help.  We can assist men being released with any concerns and can also put them in touch with others who can help them when they are back in the community.

Our team are there to help both the released individual and their families and friends on the day they get out of prison and beyond.

Why not come and see the Departure Lounge before you meet your friend or family member there? If you would like to be shown this facility, please contact us.

If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please ring the FIRST team on 01522 663355, come to see us if you are visiting HMP Lincoln or email us on FIRST@LATcharity.org.uk
