Every 20th April  marks Volunteer Recognition Day, a day dedicated to acknowledging, appreciating, and celebrating the invaluable contributions of volunteers worldwide. It's an opportunity to extend gratitude to those selfless individuals who generously donate their time and energy to support others and champion noble causes.

At Lincolnshire Action Trust (LAT), we recognise the profound impact volunteers have on the lives of those we serve. Volunteers play a pivotal role in our mission to support individuals involved in the criminal justice system, as well as their families and dependents, in finding pathways to rehabilitation and a brighter future. As Volunteer Recognition Day approaches, we take this opportunity to shine a light on the remarkable work of our volunteers and invite others to join us in making a difference.

Volunteering with LAT offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of individuals seeking support and guidance. Our volunteers work across various locations, including prisons and community settings, providing mentorship, assistance, and a listening ear to those in need. No matter what support each volunteer is providing, it all contributes to positive change and we highly appreciate those offering their time to help others.

If you're considering volunteering with LAT, here are some insights from two of our dedicated volunteers:

I've dedicated my Fridays to volunteering with LAT, as I work Monday to Thursday. This schedule allows me to arrange meetings with clients and provide support while maintaining a balance with my personal and professional commitments.
