LAT has a team of staff based at HMP Lincoln who are able to support families. The Family Information and Release Support Team (FIRST) is based next to the prison (in the building to the left of the main prison gate). They can give you advice on visits, the prison and general advice on anything you may be struggling with such as finances and housing. You can see them when you come and visit or phone 01522 663355. They are also on Facebook: ‘The FIRST Centre’.
For further information about visiting HMP Lincoln, please see the attached booklet.
With support from Children in Need, we deliver a children’s support service at HMP Lincoln. The project aims to minimise the negative impact for the children of a father going to prison. The service acts as a point of contact, encouraging family visits, and aims to provide information to make visits less daunting for children. The service also develops links with schools and other agencies to ensure a father can stay involved in his child’s life while in prison. Being Dad, a course to develop and hone parenting skills, is also offered to fathers and carers in prison.
